If you live in Bondi, you know Dina Mekler - F45 Trainer and resident Personal Trainer at the iconically Bondi gym, Beach Fit, where she gets her clients hot, sweaty and ripped by sharing her passion for functional movement and a healthy lifestyle.
We got up close and personal with Dina to get the full story on why training gives her life and how to hit those PB’s week in week out.
What got you over the line to want to become a PT?
I love helping others with their health and fitness and becoming a personal trainer gave me a daily means to motivate and educate to change the lives of those around me.
What do you love most about training people?
Seeing my clients achieve great results, that change both their bodies and minds as they get stronger every session.
Making impossible goals seem possible and showing those that think they are weak, their strengths.
Ok hit us with your personal fitness goals and if you still have those after all this time as a trainer?
My fitness goals are based on wellbeing and performance. I’d like to achieve 20 pull-ups and feel energized enough to want to want to do more. I’d like to also be able to do a muscle up one day and at the same time be Injury free..
You are working daily with clients helping them to reach their goals. What is the most important thing in order to reach your ultimate goals - What is your biggest driver?
My biggest driver is my ability to motivate others around me to lead a healthy lifestyle. I want to be able to perform well - in the gym and also in life.
Everyone has those moments they feel totally stuck - what are your hot tips to move through those times like a pro?
When in doubt I remind myself what I can do today is more than what I could do yesterday and it shifts my perspective to realise the growth I’ve achieved. What is possible tomorrow is possible because I’m planting the seeds for it today.
